We offer the following services

First time exams for puppies and kittens. Included in this exam will be the first or second booster as needed. The doctor and staff will also review with the client the many issues in raising a new puppy or kitten.

A complete range of vaccines from the routine puppy and kitten shots (see vaccine protocols) to Rattlesnake, Dental disease prevention vaccine and West Nile vaccine, (currently only for raptors and other select avians).

Complete physical exams for illness, senior, wellness and health certificates.

Routine dental cleaning is an important part of Healthy Happy Pets. The plaque and tarter that can build up in an animal's mouth is full of bacteria and as it breaks off and travels through your pets body it carries the potential to injury the kidneys, liver and even the heart. Not to mention bad breath! Welcome your pets’ kisses again with a thorough teeth cleaning. Check out the information on the Dental vaccine.

A C02 LASER unit is used in all surgeries where it is appropriate. Using the LASER reduces swelling and bleeding and as a result shortens healing time.

We do all emergency and routine surgeries such as spays and neuters. The doctor is also skilled in orthopedics, dewclaws, feline declaws (front only), abscess repairs, C-sections, anal sac removal, entropion, hernia repair, fracture repair, etc…

Ultrasound and x-ray available on site. We can ultrasound for reproduction and we are qualified OFA for hips and elbow registration.

Reproduction is not always a sure thing. When it is not we are here to help with artificial insemination and sperm evaluation.

We use Low Level Laser Therapy in dogs and cats with acute inflammatory complaints. This therapy is non-invasive and is effective for a variety of conditions including joint arthritis, muscle injuries, oral ulcers and lick granulomas.

Dr Shackelford is credentialed in Regenerative Cell Medicine. For dogs and cats, RCM  is used to treat chronic conditions like osteoarthritis, tendon or ligament injuries and K9 Immune Mediated Polyarthritis.

We are happy to do a basic shave and/or bath to meet simple grooming needs. For difficult cats and dogs we can mildly sedate for better service.

Quality of life is important. When the client and doctor come to agree the patient we have been treating will be better served by letting them go, we provide a euthanasia service with care and sympathy. We can also take care of all cremation arrangements if needed.
