Primary Care

Primary care is loosely defined as healthcare at a basic rather than specialized level. As your primary care veterinarian, TVVH is your first point of contact for all your pet’s health care needs. We are also your continuing point of contact for any chronic health issues your pet may have, and would coordinate any specialized care your pet requires.

Surgery

TVVH is a state-of-the-art, outpatient facility with an experienced surgical staff that performs hundreds of surgeries every year. The medical staff at TVVH has extensive experience in everything from soft tissue surgery to foreign body removals. Of course we also do spays and neuters.

Whether a spay, neuter or a multi-hour foreign body removal, at TVVH we go above and beyond the industry standard when performing surgery on your pet. For example, while your pet is under anesthesia, we monitor your pet’s ECG, SP02, EC02, temperature, heart rate, respiratory rate, and blood pressure. Our anesthesia monitors also have five leads instead of the common three, ensuring better measurements.

Dentistry

Just like humans, dental health is important to your pet’s overall health. Your pet’s teeth are a common route for illness and infections when not cared for. For example, animals with dental issues risk bacteria invading the body through the mouth. Your pet’s teeth and gums should be checked annually by a veterinarian to identify any issues early. Not only will your pet thank you, annual dental exams could prevent large veterinary bills later.

At TVVH, we use a state-of-the-art dental x-ray system specifically designed to identify problem areas with your pet’s teeth and gums. The clarity of the x-ray images leave no guessing as to which treatment is needed. We find that our clients seeing these crisp and clear x-ray images helps them understand and appreciate the care their pets require.

Preventative Care

Preventative care is the most important type of care you can provide for your pets. Preventative care not only keeps your pets healthy and happy, it can also help you avoid large veterinarian bills later. The best part about preventative care is that in most situations it can be accomplished by simply bringing your pets to us for their annual wellness exams, which is much like your annual exam with your primary care physician.

Annual Wellness Exams

Over time, animals have adapted to their surroundings by developing an ability to hide their pain. The reason is simple. Sick or injured animals are vulnerable to attack in the wild. Annual wellness exams are designed to find these hidden ailments, and treat them before they become emergency situations. Annual wellness exams not only keep your pets healthy and happy, they could save you thousands of dollars in future veterinary bills.

Exotics

There are few places that can provide better veterinary care for your exotic family member than TVVH. Our medical staff have countless years of combined experience treating exotics, and exotics are more than 25% of our business.
